Jord Holiday Collaboration

A person's watch says a lot about who they are. It is a true insight into their style, and often times, is the first accessory seen by others. Like most people, I am very particular about my watches, which is why I only own two. I feel that it's important to go with one that you can dress up or down, and goes well with almost everything in your closet. For all of these reasons, I was beyond excited when Jord reached out to me to collaborate because their watches check all of these boxes. They offer affordable, well made and unique pieces that are truly for everyone. With so many different and beautiful styles to pick from, it was really hard to narrow down to just one watch. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Frankie Series in dark sandalwood and emerald. I fell in love with the contrast between the wood and the brightness of the green. I envisioned it making a great statement on my wrist with an all black or white look. Then on the other hand, I loved how easily it would flow with any outfit I threw on. I wanted to show exactly that in this outfit I styled. Even though the watch does have a strong face, it easily went well with my statement blazer. The brown wood pulled out the colors in the thread and the green popped in all the right ways. I had so much fun working with Jord on this project and had even more fun styling this piece. I am so excited to incorporate it into my daily jewelry rotation. To shop this exact watch in my post, click here

Grateful

You guys, It's almost Thanksgiving! Truly one of my favorite holidays because it sets aside a day to relax, reflect and be grateful. Something we should all do so much more. I am incredibly blessed and wake up every morning with such intense gratitude for my life and those in it. This year I have felt such growth in so many ways and feel God is guiding me in the exact direction I need to be going. We are headed to the airport in a few hours to catch a flight to spend the rest of the week with my family in Little Rock. I know Stella is going to be showered with so much love and that makes my heart beyond happy. I hope you all have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving and please know how grateful I am to each and everyone of you for your interest and support in my little blog. Sending you so much love!

Levis & Velvet

I have had this top for some time now but have really been struggling with how to style it. I couldn't decide if I go sexy and add some leather pants or skirt with it or if jeans were the better option. I ended up going with my favorite pair of Levi's because I felt like it balanced out the ruffles, velvet AND lace in the top. It really let the top do all the talking without looking like I am trying too hard. This bag was a birthday present and I am 100% obsessed with it. It is a piece I know I will pass down to Stella because it is timeless. I am starting to understand what are good investments for me bag wise looks like and it is just simple black or white bags bags that can be carried as a handbag. You can't go wrong with neutrals. This bag and my nano which is my other go-to comes with a shoulder strap so I can wear it a few different ways, which is so great.

Stella has a double ear infection and has been waking up in the middle of the night and staying up for hoooourrrs. I truly feel like I have a newborn again, so I am going to wrap this post up because I am beyond exhausted. Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your weekend!

Fall Leather

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA on the blog post front. We have had a lot going on and I'm finally coming up for some air. We got back from California Monday night, and all three of us as had come down with a cold. James and I both got on steroid packs and we have been pumping Stella full of Vitamin C. Praying for a quick recovery. Anyways, we had so much fun on our trip! It is so incredibly beautiful where we were and I love going any chance we can. We rang in my 28 birthday while we were there, too, and let me tell you, it was a wild one! We were in bed and close to sleep by 7:30. My ideal night.

This layered look is so fun for fall and these Ralph Lauren leather leggings are one of my favorite pieces I own. I bought them on sale a few years back and get overly excited each season when I get to pull them out again. Layers are a must with Texas weather. You really never know what you're going to get as the day progresses, so it's important to be able to just roll with it. And last but not least, really loving my hair. I am a pretty impulsive person, but it wasn't that way with this cut. I took a loooooong time to make this decision. I have felt like my hair needed a fresh cut for some time, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Finally, when I went in last week, I knew it was time. Alyssa and Max from Osgood O'Neil on Lovers lane here in Dallas did my cut and color. I wouldn't have trusted it with anyone else. They are super talented and just overall cool people. Hoping my hair will grow back healthier and stronger, but in the mean time, loving the cut with turtlenecks and jackets.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stripes on Stripes

This blazer dress is another awesome find from Scarlet. I ordered a size too big, so threw on this belt to try and give me a little bit of a waist, but am happy how it all turned out. I feel like the belt adds another fun element to the outfit, along with the hat. I love accessories, but so often am forgetting them. I'm hoping its a talent that will come with time.

I love that the newsboy cap trend is still going strong because I can't get enough. Emily was actually the one who encouraged me to keep the hat on with the outfit, I wasn't sure about the different variation of stripes, but like she said, "it's what makes it cool", and I believe her. I think mixing prints, or patterns is a really neat way to do something different, and if you do it right, it can turn out be super chic. (Note: I am still trying to figure out how to do it right.) But, I do know there is right and a wrong way to go about it. Like for one, I always try to stay in the same color family. I think it still lets the outfit flow, and doesn't get too overwhelming. There are definitely exceptions though and I have seen plenty of people pull it off.

Finally, lets discuss these booties. AH! I have wanted red leather boots for so long. My Stuart Weitzman velvet Clinger boots are some of my favorite I own. I have been eyeing the same exact shoe, just in the brighter red. Shopbop did their annual big sale a few weeks back, and they had them on sale! I almost died. And I got them in white, too 😉 Thats the bad thing about sales... I somehow end up spending more, but justifying it because they were on sale? And I actually got both for the price of what one original pair would be... so I don't feel that bad.

Favorite Sweater

I honestly can't get enough of this sweater. I bought a small and now have it in three colors (strongly contemplating getting it in turquoise). The fit is so perfect because it can be worn by itself with the best oversize fit, that it still somehow, fitted at the same time?! It also looks great with jeans or leather pants underneath. I also am such a huge fan of this neckline. It's unique and much more fun than a typical, expected turtleneck.

These are such great boots by Stuart Weitzman. He is my go-to for all fall/winter footwear and can do no wrong in my mind. This over-the-knee pair are super comfortable and flattering. I have worn them 9 months pregnant and felt that they were super slimming. I have also worn them walking around New York, straight from the box, without even having to break them in. They are instantly comfortable.

I have been in the process of transferring my domain name and hosting account and that has been such a headache. My site has been going up and down, my email isn't working, and I lost the text to my last post, but hopefully we are in the homestretch now. I never, ever want to go thru this again. We are headed to go visit some family today- I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for stopping by! XO

Sheer Floral Friday

Not going to lie, I had a hard time figuring out how to style this sheer top. I first started off with a velvet crop top under it, and just felt like I wanted it to be more and less all at the same time. More layering, less trendy, more interesting.. something. I threw this white button down under it and felt like it put a more classic and tailored spin on it.

I have been living in these Levi's and can't get over how affordable they are. They are under $100 and I love them just as much as my jeans that cost three times that. It kind if put in prospective that you don't need to spend a ton on denim to get a great fit or style. I finished the look off with these classic white accessories because I am a huge believer white is a year round color.

I have more family coming in town tonight and I am so excited to take them around Dallas on this beautiful weekend. The weather is amazing right now and all we want to do is hang out outside. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday!

Shoulder Year Round

A great off the shoulder top doesn't have to be just in your summer rotation. While it can be the finishing touch on an outfit to show off your tan, it can also be dressed up or down with your favorite fall staples to make them functional year round. This top is a thicker material, which actually makes it even more ideal for the cooler temps and I paired it with these Grlfrnd denim that are in my top 3 current rotation. This particular pair is so soft, just the right amount of stretch and the perfect distressing. What really makes this outfit feel a little more fall are my velvet booties. These are some of my most favorite shoes I own, and am so happy I was able to pull them back out.

My parents have been in town this weekend and we have had a lot of fun. We went to some really great restaurants and did some shopping on Saturday. It's always great to see them and for them to see how quickly Stella is growing. Have a great Sunday!

Fall Staples

I am obsessed with this sweater. Totally and completely obsessed.  It is so soft and the blush color goes with so much. One of my favorite online and in-store shops is Scarlet, you can shop it here: scarletclothing.com. Their store front is in my home town and they have always had the cutest clothes. A friend of mine at the store texted me this sweater and said it was the absolute softest, and she was in no way exaggerating. I am going to have to get in other colors ASAP.  I am starting to love this brand, English Factory, because they make really cute products that are made with great quality and still affordable. My Grlfrnd denim is also from Scarlet. These are my new favorite pair. They give great stretch, and I love the high-rise waist along with the perfect amount of distress. I hadn't seen this style before, so had to scoop them up when I ordered this sweater. I love how the blush tone goes the light wash of this denim. If you guys find something you like on their online site, use my code, MSscarletsquad to get 15% off your order! Have a wonderful Tuesday!
