Summer Two-Piece

I have always been a huge fan of a good two-piece set because I love the idea of being able to mix and match the top and bottoms with other items in my closet later on. I think that is such a game changer when it comes to buying new things. If this were just a one piece, I would have hard time re-wearing it multiple times throughout the summer because its pretty bold and hard to restyle. But, by adding a white button down with the skirt or pair of boyfriend jeans with the top, you have totally toned down the look and made it more functional for day-to-day. I personally love wearing this set together, especially if I am going out. I love the brightness and how soft and lightweight it is in the summer heat. I have worn this set with a really bright pair of heels to pull out the colors in it, and this time around I opted for my nude Stuart Weitzman Nudist heel, because I feel like they help make your legs looks super long. The cut of this skirt is already short, so instead of shying away from it, I went ahead and embraced it. Because, why not?

I hope you all have an awesome weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Healthy Body Healthy Mind

Body image is something I think we all struggle with from time to time. I have been curvy for as long as I can remember and I have never really decided how I felt about it. I think it's safe to say that it changes day-to-day and you know what I have learned to accept? That it is OKAY! I will tell you though, the older I get, the more I appreciate my curves and am slowly understanding how to dress them. My body is unique, my own and brought the most beautiful person in my life into this world. I want to do my very best to be thankful and grateful and to take the absolute best care of myself that I can. My goal is not to be skinny, but to be strong, and I'll admit, it's taken a really long time to want that, but I think that is one of the biggest key's to embracing a healthy body image. If you're strong AND skinny, more power to you! My point is, we are all not built the same and its important to understand what your best body looks like. It may not look the same as a Victoria Secret model, your favorite blogger, or your best friend. All of our bodies are built differently, and some won't be "skinny" no matter how hard you work, but I promise you, you'll be strong. I am in the process of realizing that being in shape is my body's version of skinny. My booty will always be there, and I can either work my ass off and help it to look good, or I can try and be skinny, and have a saggy booty. Regardless, the booty will be there, so I will embrace it, and work with what I've got! Ultimately, my biggest goal is to love myself the way I want Stella Grace to love herself. So, I've got some work to do.

For my body, on a good day, I really like high waisted pants and crop tops. I think its a good balance and is flattering. These pants are so comfortable and I love how sleek and chic the black is. I felt like it was the perfect match to this really revealing top, which I love, but let's be honest, it had to be toned down a bit. For me, your clothes are just a reflection of how you're feeling on the inside. Some days, boyfriend jeans are my best friend, other days after I've worked out a few days in a row, I am feeling more confident. Thats the absolute best thing about fashion, you can be whoever you want, and it doesn't have to be the same person two days in a row.

I hope I didn't get too deep with you guys talking about body image. I just genuinely feel like it's a topic that isn't openly discussed enough, and it should be! Struggling with your body image from time to time, doesn't mean you have a problem or need help, it means you're human. And we should all try and be a reminder of that for one another.

Babydoll Dress

I am a huge fan of the babydoll dress. It's so flattering on everyone and can easily be paired with a belt if you want to bring in the waist a little. I was a huge fan of these dresses when I was pregnant, so I own quite a few and have continued to wear the same ones even now. I really like this particular one because it gives you a little more shape with the ruffle on the bottom and the v-neck. I love crisp, white button downs so much, and this dress is exactly what it reminds me of. It's super preppy, classic and clean, which looks good on everyone

Since the dress is so basic, I added a few fun pops of color with the shoes and bag. I love poppy for summer and I feel like the structure of the purse fit the outfit really well. I still was wanting to make it even more unique, so I paired my crazy, beaded Aquazzura sandals with it. These heels were on my wishlist for a while, and I finally saw them on Shopbop on major sale. Aquazurra goes on sale a lot, so if you're eyeing a pair, be sure to check a few different retailers before you pay full price. I have done this a few times, so learn from my mistakes!

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Brand New Post!

It's been so long since I have written a blog post and it feels great to be back in the swing of things. Things have been crazy to say the least the past few weeks and its really nice that they are slowly but surely slowing down. Emily was gone for two weeks, and I took that opportunity to meet my family in Seaside, FL and spend some much needed time with them. James was cutting hay that week, so Stella and I flew down for the week and had so much fun. I am with her everyday, but this environment was totally different than our everyday routine (obviously) and we had the time of our lives. I soaked in every single moment I had with her on the beach, watching her run around at sunset and bond with my family. It was truly so special.

This is a Zara dress I got a few weeks back, and it is now on sale for I think $15 or something crazy like that. I love the exposed hem and the nautical stripes. It is so versatile and flattering on everyone. I'm thinking white tennis sneakers for my next go around. Zara has such great pieces and I never feel guilty about buying a few things that I may or may not wear more than just a few times. I don't think this dress will fall into this category, because I can see myself wearing it for years to come.

These shoes give me life every time I wear them. The nautical vibe fell in perfectly with the dress and they are so comfortable. They are probably one of the most easy to wear shoes in my collection, which you wouldn't think, but because they are so bold and colorful, all you have to do is throw on jeans and a white t-shirt if you're feeling lazy.

It feels so good to be back to blogging and I promise to keep up the consistency!

California Finds

I had so much fun visiting my friend Alison's beautiful new home, Newport Beach. I flew in on a Thursday into LA since I have never visited there before. We went to lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel and ran down Rodeo Drive. I loved it until we. had drive home. A 45 minute drive took us 3.5 hour at 3:00 in the afternoon. It was totally insane. my sweet friend, 6 months pregnant happily drove us and was such a trooper. I couldn't wrap my brain around the fact that people do this day after day. I would literally lose my mind.

After we got to Newport, it was such a different scene. So much calmer, and I totally fell in love with it. We went to so many wonderful spots for lunches, dinners and shopping. One of the stores we went to was this beautiful ocean front, all glass building called A'Maree's. They had such amazing stuff, and we would wonder from one area to the next taking it all in. This is where I found this yellow dress that I am wearing. It was on sale, and I loved how bright and cheerful the yellow was. I am still trying to figure out how to tie the bow around the neck, but I am totally loving this piece.

In Newport, there are tons of resale shops, and we stumbled into one called Recycled Rags while we were out walking one morning. I literally died and went to heaven in this place. They had tons of my favorite designer shoes all under $200. These Louboutins I am wearing here were $140. If they had been worn you could not tell at all. I found so many great pairs and am so happy I found this little gem of a store. Follow them on Instagram, @recycled_rags, they post a lot of their finds on there.

We have already planned our trip back for my birthday and to see baby Corrigan! I am soooo excited to meet him/or her I can hardly stand it! My sister-in-law is due in late November, so this will be such an wonderful end of the year full of precious new little babes!

Have a fantastic extra long weekend! We are headed to Seaside Monday for the week with my family and I am really looking forward to it.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle

I have mentioned this a million times but I am such a huge fan of recycling looks. This pink slip dress is one of my favorite pieces I own and I have endless ideas for ways to style it in the future. I think I am going to pair it with a jean jacket and a great pair of slides next- can't wait!

So, I literally swept up so many (sorry James) great pairs of shoes during the Memorial Day sale at all the stores. These feather heels included! They were the last pair and were such a steal, I couldn't resit. Just like the slip dress, there are endless possibilities on how to wear these. Jeans a white t-shirt would be equally fun and would really allow the shoes to be showcased.

I haven't been blogging as much and I am trying to let myself be okay with that. As a mom, and just a person in general, I have so many balls in the air. Summer is especially crazy for us because we are traveling a lot and going back and forth from the ranch. Trying to squeeze in looks, especially a blog post because they require a lot more time has been challenging! I love them though and Emily and I have a blast while shooting, so I am really enjoying our time when we get to make it happen.

I have decided not to stress myself out about content if I just absolutely can't make it happen. I started the blog for fun and being a mama, wife and just an overall healthy, low stress person is my main priority.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Color of Strength

Red is my absolute favorite color. It never wavers and I think that's because it exudes strength and beauty. I always feel bold and strong when I wear this color and this dress was no exception. I love the different tiers and the details of the lace. But to be honest, any dress or top that is off the shoulder, I am all over right now. It's a currently a huge trend and super flattering on everyone. For summer there is nothing better than a pop of color and a good tan. Go for it and trust that you will look beautiful!

I am obsessed with heels, so I of course paired my new favorites with this dress, but you can truly wear anything with a look like this. Sneakers, sandals and wedges would be perfect and super comfy for date night, a barbecue or brunch.

Quick side note, Self-Portrait is UK designer, so all of his sizing is as well. Just keep in mind that a size 6 is a 2 for us and so forth.

Have an awesome weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Oversized Blouse

There is nothing I love more than an oversized blouse. I own so many and am constantly circling them through my closet. It's a great piece to own because you can wear them dressed up or down, skirts, jeans, shorts, pants, the options are endless. I also am a huge fan because I can throw them on after an indulgent weekend (which I did in this post) and it hides it all. Is it even worth mentioning that this is pretty much what I lived in when I was pregnant? I feel like it is because it makes them that much more flexible. I am still wearing the same blouses I bought pregnant, just styling them differently. But, thats just the basics of this must-have. My absolute favorite way to wear an oversized blouse is tucked halfway in with a black leather mini skirt and booties. It's effortless but so, so chic.

I decided to style it with jeans for this post because I felt like it was the most relatable. A lot of people shy away from leather mini skirts, which I get. But skinny jeans everyone owns. I do feel like it's important to point out though, that due to the fact that the blouse is so overwhelming, I try and always wear a heel with it. If I had super long legs, I'd totally wear it with sneakers, which I love, but since I am 5'6, heels always evens out this look and prevents it from making you look boxyy or swallowed up. One of my best friends, (hi Kels) was worried about this, so I know we can't be the only ones.

This particular top is from Storets, but I am not able to link from ShopStyle. If anyone wants the exact link to this blouse just DM on Insta and I'll send it to ya! Have an awesome week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Family Time

Spending time as a family is the most important things we can do with each other. Now that Stella is walking, our activities together are so much more interactive. We love taking her to the park, to the aquarium and arboretum. Basically, any place that has wide open spaces for her to stretch her legs, work on her balance and get some energy out, we are all over. It is the strangest thing, but in these past few weeks since she began walking, she looks and seems so much bigger. Her legs seem so much longer and her personality is really coming out. I am so loving this chapter and stage in that we are in. We are having so much fun with her and as a family as a whole.

On this particular park day, I had been shooting with Emily earlier in the day and James took Stella out to the park to get some fresh air. After shooting, we ran up to get some family pictures. This explains the heels, because you won't catch me in anything but tennis shoes at the park on a regular day. I was so happy this shoot organically happened because there is nothing I love more than family photos. Stella and James are closer than close and there is nothing cooler than seeing them together. She has his dimples and his whole heart. It truly makes my heart explode with joy when I see them.

Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend is here! We are headed to the ranch today and will be there until Monday. I am so excited for this little break and family time. The ranch is one of my absolute favorite places and it's so important to me that Stella grows up getting a little dirty and having a love of the outdoors. I really feel like this is why my husband is such a good man. He has the ranch, all the responsibilities and beauty that goes along with it, engrained in him.

This outfit, in my opinion, is the perfect weekend look. it's super casual with the jean shorts and ball cap, but adds a little edge with the booties. You can totally rock this look to brunch or out to the bars. The best part is, you can throw on tennis shoes and still feel just as fun. It's a really versatile outfit and I feel like everyone should have these pieces on rotation. Have a safe and fantastic four day weekend!
